  • There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
  • The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

  • 9/24—Participated in the AHCA/NCAL Workforce Committee meeting.
  • 9/24-25—Keith Hare and Steve Ford traveled to Roanoke to visit with members.
  • 9/25—Ashley Jackson of Saber Healthcare Group and Amy Hewett participated in the in the AHCA/NCAL Leadership Identification and Development Committee meeting in Washington, DC.
  • 9/25—Mark Klyczek of Virginia Health Services met with Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA-03) and Natalie Largent of American HealthCare, LLC met with an aide to Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D-VA-10) during the opening session of the AHCA/NCAL Future Leaders/DELP Scholars program in Washington, DC.
  • 9/25—Keith Hare and Steve Ford discussed long term care issues with the Friendship-Richfield Board of Directors.
  • 9/25—Participated in a work group meeting with other health care stakeholders to discuss the medical malpractice cap.
  • 9/26—Attended a meeting of AHCA/NCAL’s Emergency Preparedness/Life Safety Committee.
  • 9/26—Attended the monthly AHCA Reimbursement Committee meeting.
