Call for Entries: Annual Awards Program

Do you know an outstanding assisted living administrator or nurse? Do you have a volunteer adored by your residents, or did you have a great time with last year’s “Capture the Moment” theme for National Assisted Living week? We’d love to hear about them. VHCA-VCAL is accepting nominations for its 2019 Awards through June 10.

Each year the association recognizes outstanding activity programming, and honors volunteers, lifetime achievement, administrators, director of nursing, and CNA of the year.

Nomination packages, including online submission forms are available at https://www.vhca.org/nomination-packages/. In addition, activity directors were mailed a copy of the D.A. “Woody” Brown Community Involvement and Volunteer of the Year Award materials.

Award Categories

  • Recognition Awards – Honoring lifetime achievement, administrators, director of nursing, and CNA of the year
  • Volunteer of the Year Awards – Thanking teen, adult, and group volunteers at member centers
  • D.A. “Woody” Brown Community Involvement Awards – Recognizing outstanding activity and event programs (Year Round Public Relations, National Skilled Nursing Care Week or National Assisted Living Week Program, Special Event Program, and Facility Newsletter)

We encourage you to share information about the awards programs with your staff and submit nominations to honor your colleagues and programming! Winning a statewide honor is a great morale boost for staff and a wonderful marketing opportunity for your community.

Winners will be honored at VHCA-VCAL’s Convention on September 25 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.
