May 9: Learn How to Develop Personalized Approaches to Dementia Care

“My passion lies in equipping healthcare staff with a shared understanding and language so they can work side by side as a team. And then, we pay it forward to the families!” says Heather McKay, the featured presenter at the upcoming VHCA-VCAL education program. An award-winning dementia care specialist and occupational therapist with Partnerships for Health, McKay will share insights on how to provide a personalized approach to caring for individuals with dementia as the disease progresses.  She will also discuss strategies to improve balance and movement—keys to reducing falls.  The day will also include a breakout session on care planning for the assisted living setting.
