ISPs Reflecting Assessed Needs and Medication Administration Again Top the List of Most Cited Deficiencies

Analysis of the top ten deficiencies cited at the 355 facilities inspected from April 1 – July 1, 2017 again show that the two most-cited deficiencies remain the same for the third quarter in a row:

  • 58 deficiencies cited under 22VAC40-72-(6)-440-C: Individualized service plans – reflecting assessed needs, and
  • 46 deficiencies cited under 22VAC40-72-(6)-670-C: Administration of medications and related provisions – medication administration.

Eight of the ten most cited deficiencies by the Department of Social Services (DSS) were included on the top ten list for last quarter.  Altogether the agency inspected 355 assisted living facilities.
