Analysis Identifies Key Areas for Assisted Living to Improve

Senior Housing News reports health care real estate investment trust (REIT) Welltower has released a study conducted on its behalf by Johns Hopkins Medicine identifying “five key areas of care quality that can serve as the basis for the development of a culture of quality measurement and quality improvement in assisted living at the national level.” The analysis pointed to the areas of culture, environment, health care services, coordination and integration with community, and resident quality of life.

AHCA/NCAL Associate Vice President of Workforce and Quality Improvement Lindsay Schwartz was one of the stakeholders invited to be part of this group to recommend domains and subdomains of quality measures for assisted living. Schwartz participated to lend AHCA/NCAL’s expertise to help the profession by identifying quality measures appropriate for assisted living.
