New resources: The CDC recently announced the availability of new and updated resources for long term care (LTC) providers including an LTC Factsheet and a Sepsis Prevention Assessment Tool.

Long Term Care Factsheet: This editable resource is meant to answer key questions about respiratory virus season from residents, families, and visitors. It can be used to educate residents, visitors, and others on ways the facility may be taking action to promote resident health during respiratory virus season.

Sepsis Prevention Assessment Tool (SPAT) for Nursing Homes: Nursing home residents are at increased risk for infections that can lead to sepsis due to more common medical conditions and frequent interactions in healthcare settings where infections can spread. The SPAT for Nursing Homes identifies gaps in sepsis policies, training, and practices in nursing homes that can be targeted to improve infection prevention, sepsis recognition, and health outcomes.

• This resource includes instructions to assist with preparing and conducting the SPAT for Nursing Homes, analyzing and sharing assessment data, and preparing for next steps.
