Check Out HealthCap’s Free Webinar Series Focusing on Resident Independence

February is National Senior Independence Month, a time to focus on how everyday decisions, communication, and care practices support resident choice, dignity, and independence.

  • HealthCap® is offering a free four-part webinar series highlighting practical, resident-focused approaches that reinforce independence across roles and care settings.

Register for one session or the full series. Sessions include:

Resident Centered Care: Direct Care Staff: This session encourages caring for the whole person by integrating personal preferences, resident-centered communication, and advocacy into everyday care.

Person-Centered Care Plans: This session focuses on identifying the key elements of a person-centered care plan and understanding how it differs from a medically based approach to support quality of care and quality of life.

Baseline Care Plans: Baseline care plans must be developed within the first 48 hours of admission and are intended to support effective, person-centered care. This session reviews the regulatory requirements and explores how to balance health and safety needs with what is important to the resident during the baseline care plan timeframe.

The New Trauma Informed Care: Trauma-informed care recognizes that individuals experience and respond to trauma differently, and that overwhelming stress can affect behavior, mood, and trust. This session focuses on understanding trauma-informed approaches that help avoid triggers, promote comfort and trust, and support a calm, respectful environment for residents.
