Opportunity to Serve on the Board of LTC Administrators

There are currently three seats on the Board of Long Term Care Administrators open for appointment for new terms beginning July 1, 2021—including an opening for an assisted living facility administrator. VHCA-VCAL encourages members to apply for these openings to serve on this key board.

The open positions include:

  • One opening for a licensed nursing home administrator
  • One opening for assisted living facility administrator
  • One opening for an individual who is from a profession or institution concerned with the care and treatment of chronically ill and elderly or mentally impaired patients or residents.

Board members are appointed by the governor for a four-year term. Appointees can serve no more than two successive terms.

About the Board

The Board of Long-Term Care Administrators regulates the following professions:

  • Nursing Home Administrators
  • Nursing Home Preceptors
  • Assisted Living Facility Administrators
  • Assisted Living Facility Preceptors

In addition, the Virginia Board of Long-Term Care Administrators issues guidance documents that provide information or guidance to the public to interpret or implement statutes and the agency’s rules or regulations. Topics covered by the guidance documents include qualifications for licensure and continuing education requirements.
