Are you ready for April 1 when the Department of Social Services (DSS) will begin assessment for compliance with the new Standards for Licensed Assisted Living Facilities?  Take a look at our quick list of things you can do to be sure you are ready:

• Visit the VHCA-VCAL webpage Standards for Assisted Living Facilities (22VAC40-73) to have all the resources and tools you need to navigate the new regulations in one place. If you need assistance logging on to the VHCA-VCAL website, please contact Kathy Robertson.
• Ask your questions about the new standards using our online questionnaire. VHCA-VCAL will work with DSS to address your questions or concerns. As we gather this information, it will be shared with DSS as needed without attribution.
• Find the Disclosure Statement and the Liability Insurance Disclosure Notification Form DSS website; click on “Current ALF Providers” and then scroll down to “Forms.” DSS is advising ALFs to use both updated forms from this time forward.
• Submit question about the new regulations by emailing ALFREGS@dss.virginia.gov. Questions will be addressed through a Q&A document issued by the agency.
