Checklist for Consumers and Prospective Residents

Checklist for Consumers and Prospective Residents

When an individual is considering assisted living, thinking about what services you may need can be overwhelming. NCAL’s Checklist for Consumers and Prospective Residents can help consumers sort through the issues that are most important to them and get them the answers they need.

The checklist is a great resource you can include in your marketing materials or adapt for your own use to help prospective residents and their families understand the various services and costs when touring and choosing a potential community.

The checklist covers the following areas:

  • Service Planning
  • Services and Activities
  • Staff
  • Moving In
  • Costs and Fees
  • Dining and Food Services
  • Living Space and Accommodations
  • Licensure and Certification
  • Safety
  • Location

NCAL has a variety of customer relations resources on its customer relations webpage. Materials include materials for residents and their families, as well as in-service training modules for staff. The resources cover a range of topics from:

  • Choosing an Assisted Living
  • Marketing
  • Move In/Move Out
  • Preventing Fraud and Abuse
  • Resident/Family Experience

We will continue to highlight these helpful NCAL resources in future editions of The Voice of VCAL.
