DSS and VCU Partner to Offer ISP Training

Register now to take part in Individualized Service Plan (ISP): Meeting Resident/Participant Needs training offered by the Department of Social Services (DSS) and the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Department of Gerontology. Sessions are offered in 7 locations from June 5 to 21.

Full details about the training are available in the event flyer.  The training sessions include the following:

  • Abingdon: Thursday, June 14, 2018
  • Fairfax: Tuesday, June 19, 2018
  • Hampton: Tuesday, June 5, 2018
  • Richmond: Wednesday, June 6, 2018 and Thursday, June 7, 2018
  • Salem: Tuesday, June 12, 2018
  • Virginia Beach: Thursday, June 21, 2018
  • Woodstock: Wednesday, June 13, 2018

There are two ways to register:

  1. To pay by credit card and register online go to: training.vcu.edu and search using “gerontology” as the sponsor (select from drop down menu)
  2. Complete the registration form and mail or fax it to VCU–instructions are included on the form.

Attendees must register and pay for the class 10 business days before the training date. If payment is not received 10 business days before the class, the registration will be canceled.

Who should attend? Professional caregivers working in assisted living facilities (ALFs) or Adult Day Care Centers (ADCC) settings. This course is designed for those who are new to the facility or newly responsible for creating ISPs. This course is not designed to be a refresher course.
