George Sibley, 93
Everybody knows George. Mr. Sibley. “Sibby.” George Sibley is one of those people you can learn something new about every time you speak to him. He has that charm and wit that makes you want to listen to any story he tells. He takes pride in all of things that he has done, and boy, he’s done a lot!
A true New Englander and a Patriots fan, George was born in Massachusetts, enjoyed fishing and sailing, and is very prideful of where he has come from. At 93 years old, he can recall so many details about his life and experiences: years, names of people; his anecdotes are the best.
George served in the US Air Force before building an impressive career in engineering and aircraft design, with professional experience at both Harvard University and Raytheon.
In activities, if we are talking about science, engineering, or really just about anything, George is the one to turn to for fun facts and history. He is not afraid to speak up, and he will hold your attention. He’s a go-getter when involved in physical games. He will give it his all to try anything from his wheelchair.
One moment that will always be remembered is the day George became emotional while sharing how much he appreciates the hard work that goes into the activities programs—an expression of gratitude that meant the world to the team.
George has a big heart: for his family, for his friends here, and for simple acts of kindness. It’s no wonder that everybody knows and loves George.
