What’s new: CMS released an update to QSO-26-03-NH on surveyor guidance on April 3, 2026. The updated memo primarily clarifies provisions in the State Operations Manual, specifically chapters 5 and 7, introduced previously in a January 30, 2026 memo. The updates will take effect on April 30, 2026.
What to know: The latest CMS proposed rule for the skilled nursing facility (SNF) prospective payment system (PPS) for fiscal year (FY) 2027 proposes a modest 2.4 percent increase to Medicare Part A rates in FY 2027.
