Joan Edwards, 93
Ms. Joan Edwards has always had a love for animals. When Ms. Joan was raising her children, they delighted in their menagerie, including dogs, a cat, horses, ponies, a lamb, ducks, chickens, a rabbit, a guinea pig, hamsters, canaries, finches, ring-necked doves, goldfish, and even a little white mouse.
Ms. Joan began writing short stories while raising her children and has recently had them published under the title, Willow Tree Pond Stories and Poems. The short stories are sweet, funny, and inspiring. The illustrations were all done by her son. It is her hope that this book will spark in children an appreciation of the natural world and the delightful individuality of each creature. She is currently in the process of publishing another book in 2024.
Ms. Joan has been a resident of Dogwood Village Health & Rehab since April 2021. She is very kindhearted and loves to read; she often shares some of her short stories with other residents in our facility.
