Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 4/15—Participated in the biweekly AHCA/NCAL call for state affiliate staff.
• 4/16—Met with the Brain Injury Association of Virginia to discuss shared priorities.
• 4/16—The Convention and Trade Show Committee met.
• 4/17—Monitored the activities of the General Assembly reconvened session.
• 4/17—Participated in the biweekly AHCA/NCAL call for Constituency Councils.
• 4/17—Attended the DSS Board meeting.
• 4/17—Toured Canterbury Health and Rehab.
• 4/18—Attended a DMAS nursing facility town hall to discuss updates on rebasing reimbursement rates.
• 4/9—Attended the AHCA’s monthly call for state executives on PDMP issues.
