Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 4/25—Attended political fundraisers for Del. Charniele Herring (D-Alexandria) and Sen. David Sutterlein (R-Roanoke).
• 4/25—Participated in the quarterly CMS National Stakeholder Call with CMS Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure.
• 4/27—Attended a political fundraiser for Sen. Mark Obenshain (R-Harrisonburg).
• 4/28—Attended the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC)-Virginia Board meeting.
• 4/28—Met with DMAS to discuss the Medicaid Nursing Facility Value-Based Purchasing Program.
• 4/28—Attended a political fundraiser for US Senator Mark Warner (D).
