Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 12/9—Attended the biweekly conference call for AHCA/NCAL state affiliate staff.
• 12/9—Attended a meeting of the Board of Long Term Care Directors’ Regulatory Advisory Panel.
• 12/10—Participated in a meeting of the AHCA Survey/Regulatory Committee.
• 12/10—Monitored the quarterly Board of Medical Assistance Services meeting.
• 12/11—Met with CMS Region 3 officials as part of their quarterly meeting with long term care stakeholders.
• 12/11—Attended the State Board of Social Services quarterly meeting.
• 12/12—Attended a meeting of the NCAL Assisted Living Professional Development Workgroup.
• 12/12—Held a monthly check-in meeting with DMAS on the Medicaid VBP Program.
• 12/13—Met with DMAS to discuss issues affecting specialized care facilities.
