VHCA-VCAL This Week
VHCA-VCAL’s advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job. While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates.
We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA-VCAL staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession.
Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of February 8, 2021.
- 2/8—Participated in AHCA/NCAL’s weekly conference call for state affiliate staff on COVID-19.
- 2/9—Participated the VDH Provider Coordination Call on COVID-19 issues for long term care stakeholders.
- 2/9—Participated in the monthly CCC Plus nursing facility claims processing calls with Aetna and Virginia Premier.
- 2/10—Participated in the monthly CCC Plus nursing facility claims processing calls with Magellan.
- 2/10—121 individuals attended the 2021 Legislative Conference’s Regulatory Panel webinar featuring speakers from VDH and DSS.
- 2/11—91 individuals attended the 2021 Legislative Conference webinar with Gov. Ralph Northam, who thanked providers for their work protecting residents and patients during the pandemic.
- 2/11—88 individuals attended the 2021 Legislative Conference webinar on workforce development initiatives led by the Chief Workforce Development Advisor to the Governor Megan Healy.
- 2/11—Participated in the monthly CCC Plus nursing facility claims processing calls with Anthem.
- 2/11—Participated in the Virginia Nursing Association’s Access to Mental Health workgroup call.
- 2/11—Participated in the AHCA Reimbursement Committee meeting.
- 2/12—Participated in the VDH LTC Wellness Advisory Committee meeting.
- 2/12—Participated in the State Liability Summit.
