VHCA-VCAL’s advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job.  While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates. 

We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA-VCAL staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession. 

Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of February 14, 2022.

• 2/14—Participated in the biweekly call for AHCA/NCAL state affiliate staff.
• 2/14—Participated in a call hosted by DMAS on the upcoming transition of its Medicaid Management Information System to the Medicaid Enterprise Systems.
• 2/15—Attended the Virginia Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Advisory Group meeting.
• 2/15-17—Over 170 individuals attended the 2022 Legislative Conference webinars. 
• 2/16—Participated in AHCA’s State Affiliate Policy Task Force meeting.
• 2/17—Participated in the COVID-19 Long Term Care Facility Task Force meeting.
• 2/17—Attended the Virginia Community Integrated Health Network’s quarterly stakeholder meeting.
• 2/18—Participated in a meeting of DMAS’s Dental Advisory Committee.
