Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 2/23-24—217 members were in Richmond to attend the Legislative Conference and meet with their legislators at the General Assembly.
• 2/23—The VHCA-VCAL Board of Directors held its first quarterly meeting of 2026.
• 2/26—206 attended the annual survey program, 2025 Survey Trends: Survey Results Unpacked.
• 2/25—Represented long term care providers at a VDH workgroup meeting on combatting multi-drug resistant organisms in Virginia.
