Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 2/3—Met with DMAS to discussion PDPM-related claims processing issues.
• 2/3—VHCA-VCAL Chair Wendy Walter of CCR and Ashley Jackson of Saber Healthcare Group, testified in opposition to SB 808 before the health subcommittee of the Senate Education and Health Committee.
• 2/4—Provided a sector update to Friendship’s strategic planning committee retreat.
• 2/5—Attended the quarterly meeting of the VDH Healthcare Acquired Infections Advisory Committee Group.
• 2/5—Attended the monthly NCAL call for state affiliate staff.
