SB 1217 was reported by the Health Welfare and Institutions (HWI) Committee with amendments specifying that the advertiser, not the newspaper would be liable for an ad SB 1217 is again identical to HB 2219, which is awaiting a hearing in the Senate Education and Health Committee.
Assisted Living Generator Testing and Disclosure Bills
The generator disclosure bill, HB 1815, was reported unanimously by the Senate Rehabilitation and Social Services Committee. It will head to a final vote on the Senate floor next week. SB 1077, the bill outlining assisted living generator testing requirements was unanimously endorsed by the HWI Committee and is headed for a House floor vote.
Emergency Evacuation of Nursing Homes Bills
HB 1870, after being unanimously supported in the House of Delegates, has received unanimous support in the Senate Education and Health Committee. The Senate version of the bill SB 1277 should be on the docket of the HWI Committee for next week. These bills will help nursing homes comply with the federal emergency preparedness regulations by allowing them to add temporary beds under the Long Term Care Mutual Aid Plan (LTC-MAP).
