Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of January 13, 2025.

• 1/13—Attended the biweekly AHCA/NCAL call for state affiliate staff.
• 1/14—Met with Del. Vivian Watts (D-Fairfax) about her legislation on nursing home minimum staffing.
• 1/17—Participated in the monthly check in meeting with DMAS on the VBP Program.
• 1/17—Hosted the second session of the Pulling Together the Significant Revisions of the LTC Survey Process Webinar Series.
• 1/17—Attended meetings of the Senate health professions subcommittee and the Rehabilitation and Social Services Committee.
