The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and the Department of Social Services (DSS) have asked VHCA-VCAL to remind providers about their obligations related to reportable diseases, which include influenza.  Flu activity in Virginia is currently widespread. Both nursing centers and assisted living facilities have obligations to report outbreaks of the flu and other diseases to help epidemiologists monitor and track the spread of disease.
