Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 1/6—Hosted a member webinar to introduce the VDH Office of Licensure and Certification leadership team.
• 1/7—Attended a facility tour at Newport Post Acute for Newport News vice mayor Curtis Bethany.
• 1/7—Participated in an AHCA/NCAL CHOP/CHOW workgroup meeting.
• 1/8—Held a monthly check-in meeting with DMAS on the Medicaid Value-Based Payment program.
• 1/8—Participated in the monthly NCAL meeting for state affiliate staff.
• 1/9—Attended political fundraisers for Del. Kathy Tran (D-Springfield) and Del. Betsy Carr (D-Richmond).
