VHCA-VCAL This Week
VHCA-VCAL’s advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job. While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates.
We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA-VCAL staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession.

- 7/13—Participated in AHCA/NCAL’s weekly legislative update call for state affiliate staff.
- 7/13—Participated in AHCA/NCAL’s weekly conference call for state affiliate staff on COVID-19.
- 7/13—Participated in a meeting of the Virginia Healthcare Workforce Advisory Council.
- 7/14—Participated in the biweekly LTC Facilities Provider Coordination call led by VDH.
- 7/14—Hosted The Impact of COVID-19 on Pharmacy Services and Medication Management webinar led by Remedi SeniorCare with 32 attendees.
- 7/14—Participated in a conference call with the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association (VHHA), LeadingAge Virginia, and the Virginia Assisted Living Association (VALA) on COVID-19 coordination between long term care facilities and health systems.
- 7/16—Joined a call for AHCA/NCAL state affiliate executives on point-of-care testing.
- 7/16—Attended an AHCA/NCAL conference call for state reimbursement specialists.
- 7/16—Participated in the AHCA/NCAL weekly call for public relations professionals for state affiliates and providers.
- 7/17—Attended the State Telehealth Plan meeting.
