Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of May 30, 2023.  

• 5/30—Met with DMAS to discuss LTSS Screening issues.
• 5/30—Attended a DMAS townhall on specialized care rates.
• 6/1—Participated in the monthly NCAL call for assisted living state affiliate staff.
• 6/1—Attended a political fundraiser for Del. Chris Head (R-Roanoke).
• 6/2– Participated in a Working Interdisciplinary Networks of Guardianship Stakeholder (WINGS) meeting.
