For your radar: DMAS intends to publish fiscal year 2024 Medicaid rates no later than July 1, 2023.

• DMAS made the announcement at a June 22 meeting on rate updates.

For context: Earlier this year, the General Assembly only passed a stop-gap measure for the FY 2023 and FY 2024 budgets. That action did not address Medicaid, the Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) Program, and auxiliary grant funding of interest to VHCA-VCAL members.

• Budget negotiators are set to resume talks next week following the resolution of the federal debt limit talks and the Virginia primaries, both of which were given as reasons that the budget work remained unfinished.

To the extent any pending state budget action impacts posted rates, the rates would be updated accordingly.
