Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of March 13, 2023.  

• 3/13—Attended the DMAS town hall for nursing facilities on Medicaid unwinding.
• 3/14 and 3/16—93 individuals attended the first two sessions of the Behavioral Health: Care Process for Residents With Dementia Webinar Series.
• 3/14—Monitored the Board of Medical Assistance Services meeting.
• 3/14—Participated in a meeting for NCAL State Leaders to consider bylaws changes.
• 3/15—Joined the monthly AHCA/NCAL technical assistance Webex for state affiliate leaders.
• 3/15—Attended the 2023 Virginia Telehealth Network Summit.
• 3/16—Participated in the Riverside Lifelong Health Administration monthly meeting.
