Join Us for the Congressional Briefing: June 3-4
On June 3-4, VHCA-VCAL members and staff will head to the annual AHCA/NCAL Congressional Briefing in Washington DC to meet with members of the Virginia Congressional delegation. Make plans now to join us! These visits are especially important this year with the shift in power in the House of Representatives to the Democrats and the number of freshman legislators in our delegation. VHCA-VCAL staff will take care of making all the arrangements for the Congressional visits and will accompany you to Capitol Hill.
VHCA-VCAL staff will work to make appointments with the members of the Virginia delegation who sit on key committees to long term and post-acute care (LT/PAC) providers including:
- Sen. Mark Warner – member of the Senate Finance Committee (oversees Medicare and Medicaid)
- Rep. Don McEachin (D-4th) – member of the Energy and Commerce Committee (oversees Medicare and Medicaid)
- Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-9th) – member of the Energy and Commerce Committee
- Rep. Don Beyer (D-8th) – member of the Ways and Means Committee (oversees tax policy)
We also intend to meet with freshmen members of the delegation:
- Ben Cline (R-6th)
- Elaine Luria (D-2nd)
- Denver Riggleman (R-5th)
- Abigail Spanberger (D-7th)
- Jennifer Wexton (D-10th)
While we know Rep. Cline and Rep. Wexton from the General Assembly, the others have not previously served in public office.
See the complete agenda, get hotel information, and register at CB.ahcancal.org.
If you plan to attend, we encourage you to book your room at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill as soon as possible because it sells out every year.
The advanced registration deadline is May 6, 2019. The conference registration fee is complimentary to AHCA/NCAL members and AHCA/NCAL associate business members, and their spouses, and is accepted on a first-come basis. Registration for this event is exclusively for long term and post-acute care provider members of AHCA/NCAL and AHCA/NCAL associate business members only. AHCA/NCAL reserves the right to grant final approval for all registrants to attend this conference.
