Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of March 25, 2024.

• 3/25—Held a meeting of the Provider Owned Network Workgroup to continue to explore the development of such a network in Virginia.
• 3/25—Met with leadership of the Board of Long Term Care Administrators to discuss continuing education issues.
• 3/26-28—59 individuals attended the final three sessions of the Addressing Mental Illness Behavioral Health Webinar Series.
• 3/26—The Education Committee met to review past and upcoming programming.
• 3/27—Met with DMAS to discuss implementation of the LTSS Screening changes passed by the General Assembly this session.
• 3/28—Participated in the monthly AHCA Reimbursement Committee meeting.
