Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 11/10—Hosted the final session of the Silver Quality Award webinars to help members write successful applications.
• 11/11—The VHCA-VCAL Board of Directors held its quarterly meeting.
• 11/13—Met with DMAS for a monthly check-in on Medicaid Value-Based Payment program issues.
• 11/13—Represented long term care providers at the quarterly meeting of the VDH Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) Advisory Group meeting.
• 11/13—Attended a meeting of the Access to Mental Health Workgroup hosted by the Virginia Nurses Association.
• 11/14—Attended the third meeting of the Nursing Home Oversight and Accountability Board.
