GMU Recruiting for ECHO National Nursing Home COVID Action Network

George Mason University (GMU) is joining the ECHO National Nursing Home COVID Action Network as an official training center for nursing homes. Participation is free and all Medicare- and Medicaid-eligible nursing homes are invited to join. The network, which also includes VCU, is a nationwide training program to help keep COVID-19 from spreading in area nursing homes and to prepare to equip staff so that they can better protect residents and themselves.

This nationwide initiative is designed to connect nursing facility staff with experts in a virtual learning community, ensure that they have the most up-to-date best practices along with guidance to implement them, and increase their knowledge of infection control and quality improvement. The program is part of the National Nursing Home COVID-19 Action Network supported by the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) in collaboration with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and Project ECHO.

A $6,000 stipend is available for eligible nursing homes that successfully complete the program. If you are interested in joining GMU’s virtual, interactive community of learning, please complete this form and save the date for the GMU kickoff orientation: November 12, 2020 from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm.

Nursing facilities may sign up with a training center of their choice. GMU and VCU will have the capacity to support the participation of well over 200 nursing facilities.
