Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 10/15—Held a monthly meeting with DMAS leaders to discuss issues affecting nursing facilities.
• 10/15—Attended a political fundraiser for Del. Jason Ballard (R-Giles County).
• 10/16—Attended the quarterly DSS Board meeting.
• 10/16—Attended the biweekly AHCA/NCAL call for constituency councils.
• 10/17–Attended a meeting of the Virginia Disaster Medical Advisory Committee.
• 10/17—Amy Hewett was elected president of the Society of Long Term Care Communicators during its annual meeting.
• 10/17-18—Attended the AHCA Council of States meetings.
• 10/18—Participated in the AHCA webinar on preparing for mandatory provider reenrollment revalidation.
