Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

• 9/26—Attended a political fundraiser for Hillary Pugh Kent, Republican candidate for the 67^th House of Delegates district.
• 9/26—Met with DMAS to discuss issues related to the Medicaid Value-Based Purchasing Program.
• 9/27—Met with legislative aides to Sen. Mark Warner and Sen. Tim Kaine to discuss the CMS nursing facility staffing mandate.
• 9/28—Attended an event to meet the new chancellor of the Virginia Community College System, Dr. David Dore.
• 9/28—Participated in the monthly AHCA/NCAL meeting for state affiliate public relations staff.
• 9/28—Participate in a meeting of the AHCA Reimbursement Committee.
• 9/29—Attended the Board of Long Term Care Administrators meeting.
