As a reminder, PBJ data collected by nursing centers from October 1 – December 31, 2017 must be submitted by February 14, 2018. Now is a good time to enter your data into the PBJ portal and run some validation checks to ensure your data’s accuracy. If the data isn’t accurate, you have until the February 14 deadline to resubmit a corrected version. 

Additionally, please note that CMS, along with its contractors, Granite Dolphin and Myers and Stauffer LC, is now conducting both on-site and off-site audits of PBJ data. 

You may receive a letter notifying you of the audit and you should take measures to comply with the audit. If you do not comply with the audit or if the data you submitted is found to be erroneous during the audit, you will be subject to the following actions: 

• Negative icon on NHC 
• Suppression of overall and staffing ratings on NHC
