VHCA-VCAL This Week
VHCA-VCAL’s advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job. While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates.
We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA-VCAL staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession.
Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of March 13, 2017.
- 3/13—Joined the weekly legislative update call hosted by AHCA/NCAL.
- 3/14—Attended the Board of Long Term Care Administrators meeting.
- 3/14—Joined the AHCA/NCAL conference call for state affiliate executives.
- 3/14—Met with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Disability Services.
- 3/14—Participated in the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association (VHHA) work group on life-sustaining treatment guidelines.
- 3/15—Hosted the Assisted Living Facilities Stakeholder meeting.
- 3/15—Met with VHHA to discuss how the two organizations can collaborate on readmissions reduction initiatives.
- 3/16—Hosted the Nursing Facility Advisory Committee meeting.
- 3/16—Attended an AHCA/NCAL conference call to analyze the impact of the repeal and replace legislation on Medicaid funding.
- 3/16—Attended the Virginia Board of Health meeting.
