Advocacy is a year-round job.

• There’s much more to advocacy than lobbying during the General Assembly session.
• The meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates for our members.

Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of October 6, 2025.

• 10/6—Participated in the biweekly call for AHCA/NCAL state affiliate staff.
• 10/7—Provided an update on the Medicaid Value-Based Purchasing (VBP) program to Saber Healthcare Group.
• 10/9—Held a monthly check in meeting with DMAS on the VBP program.
• 10/9—Met with the Secretary of Health and VDH leaders to discuss issues affecting nursing facilities.
