2022 Recognition Award Winners

Members were honored for their dedication to the long term care profession and service to others at the annual Awards Banquet.

  • Awards were given to the CNA, Director of Nursing, Assisted Living Administrator, and Nursing Facility Administrator of the Year, as well as lifetime achievement.

The 2022 Recognition Award recipients are: 

James Dunton Distinguished Service Award for Lifetime Achievement

  • Thomas J. Orsini, President/CEO of Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital, who has had a remarkable career as an administrator, humanitarian, and community business leader, dedicating over 45 years in service of others.


Nursing Facility Administrator of the Year

  • Angela Moore, Heritage Hall – Dillwyn, who epitomizes what the long term care industry should expect out of an administrator going above and beyond for residents and staff, and always being willing to lend a helping hand and do what needs to be done.


Assisted Living Administrator of the Year

  • Allison Whiteman, The Terrace at Beth Sholom, a compassionate and knowledgeable leader who has served her community in a variety of roles before becoming the administrator at the onset of the pandemic.


Director of Nursing of the Year

  • Lynn Winemiller, Heritage Hall – Leesburg, who has faithfully worked in long term care for over 25 years, has been a champion of the nursing profession, and is committed to clinical excellence.


Certified Nursing Assistant of the Year

  • Hope Brown, River View on the Appomattox, who has been devoted to the work of providing excellent care for 30 years and served as a mentor to new CNAs.

 

Winners of the 2022 D.A. “Woody” Brown Community Involvement Awards were also recognized at the banquet.
