VHCA-VCAL’s advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job.  While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates. 

We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA-VCAL staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession.

• 8/5—April Payne visited Sunrise of McLean.
• 8/5—Participated in the weekly AHCA/NCAL legislative conference call for state affiliates.
• 8/6—Participated in the LTC Portal weekly Q&A conference call hosted by DMAS.
• 8/7—Participated in a meeting led by HQI on opioid use and chronic kidney disease.
• 8/7—Attended the grand opening reception at The Wellington at Lake Manassas.
• 8/8—Met with the Office of Licensure and Certification to discuss survey issues.
• 8/9—Attended a political fundraiser for Del. Nick Rush (R-Christiansburg).
