Virginia State Health Commissioner Dr. M. Norman Oliver sent an update to healthcare practitioners across the Commonwealth on April 7. This update included information on:

• Importance of diagnostic screening COVID-19 testing in Virginia
• SARS-CoV-2 variants
• Importance of reporting COVID-19 outbreaks
• Cases of vaccine breakthrough

The letter also advises practitioners to continue to visit CDC’s COVID-19 website and VDH’s COVID-19 website for the most current information or contact your local health department.
