On April 12, 2022, US Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra extended the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) another 90 days.

The PHE was set to expire on April 16. It will now run through July 11. The extension of the PHE means waivers for the Three-Day Stay and telehealth flexibilities will remain in place.

Note that federal officials have previously stated they would provide 60 days notice before ending the PHE.
