VHCA-VCAL This Week
VHCA-VCAL’s advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job. While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates.
We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA-VCAL staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession.
Take a look at our outreach and advocacy work for the week of October 24, 2016.
- 10/24—Participated in AHCA/NCAL’s weekly legislative conference call.
- 10/25—Met with Del. Chris Peace (R-Hanover) to discuss VHCA-VCAL’s legislative priorities.
- 10/25—Monitored the Senate Finance Committee’s Health and Human Resources subcommittee meeting.
- 10/26—Met with Sen. Siobhan Dunnavant (R-Henrico) to discuss VHCA-VCAL’s legislative priorities.
- 10/27—Over 120 members attended the Manage Your Five-Star Rating: Strategies for Success education program.
- 10/27—Participated in a meeting of UnitedHealthcare’s Provider Advisory Council to discuss the Medicaid Long Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) program.
- 10/27—Took part in the CMS Open Door Forum for long term care providers on the Requirements of Participation final rule.
- 10/28—Joined an American Society of Health Care Administration Executives conference call to discuss public opinion polling.
