What’s new: The CDC recently released the 2025-2026 influenza vaccine recommendations in its Morbidity and Mortality Week Report (MMWR).
- Routine annual influenza vaccination is recommended for all persons aged ≥6 months without a contraindication to vaccination to protect against influenza and its complications.
- The MMWR and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) summary of recommendations include full details for the timing and selection of vaccine.
Other vaccines: Guidance for the COVID-19 vaccine/booster and RSV vaccine are expected after the next ACIP meeting on September 18-19.
- As a reminder, the FDA has approved the COVID-19 vaccine for those ≥65 and adults with high-risk conditions.
