Julius WoodsJulius Woods made his appearance in this world on a summer day in 1935 in Burlington, North Carolina. As a young boy, Julius went to work with his father, Silas Woods, to learn the family business, Woods Drywall. Julius learned the importance of establishing a commendable work ethic, which he has maintained all his life. While a young working lad, Julius also met the only love of his life, Linda.

At 18, Julius Woods enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was proud to serve his beloved country and did so for two years. Upon finishing his boot camp, Julius remembers being put on a ship named Pope, and sailing off to join forces in the Korean War. He recalls that the ship crossed the international date line on August 26 jumping forward to August 28, which meant he missed his birthday on the 27th! Julius also recalls being awarded a “Golden Glove Boxer” honor while aboard the ship.

Upon his discharge from the Army, Julius headed home to return to work alongside his father and rekindle his love for Linda. Julius and Linda enjoyed a loving marriage of over 40 years together. The couple had two sons, Jason, and Joey. With the passing of time, Julius took over the family business and changed the name to Woods & Sons Drywall. His son, Joey, died in his 50s, and his beloved Linda died at 62 years old. With a broken heart, Julius moved in with his son, Jason, until he was admitted to Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in 2024 at the age of 89. He now enjoys the love of his seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
