Mr. Hilliard “Hilly” Paige is an amazing man: intelligent, well-traveled, adventurous, music-loving. He served in some of the nation’s best-known corporations and had a hand in numerous projects to promote American security, including proposing and developing an orbiting satellite that took photographs of military activities in the Soviet Union during the Cold War. He also helped to develop mine sweepers.

Mr. Paige served as the Senior Vice President for Technology for General Electric for 30 years, the President of General Dynamics Corporation, and founded Satellite Business Systems, which later became part of IBM. He helped to develop automatic pin spotters for the American Machine & Foundry (AMF) and has served as an energy consultant, as well. But these accomplishments pale in comparison to his marriage to his late wife Dorthea in 1945.

Mr. Paige’s favorite pastimes have been skiing, scuba diving, horseback riding, playing tennis and golf, attending musical performances, and spending time with his family. Nowadays, if you can catch him, he can be found exercising at the Williamsburg Landing Health Club & Spa, playing poker, joining in sing-alongs, or shopping out and about in the Williamsburg community. What a remarkable life for a one-of-a-kind man!
