Aletha SeltzerWrestling with the grief of her father’s unexpected death, Ms. Aletha Seltzer heard a clear message from a Christian radio broadcast. Believing God’s word, she repented, accepted Jesus Christ into her life, and found peace. She found her life wonderfully changed, even when she was later diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Ms. Seltzer gradually needed assistance using a cane, then a walker, and finally a wheelchair. While on vacation, her chair got stuck going down a ramp and she flew through the air. She landed with her legs bent underneath her. She was transported to Sentara Care and Rehabilitation Residence in Chesapeake. After her fractured leg healed, she began a rehab regimen. She worked diligently through the pain with her therapist.

Today Ms. Seltzer is most often found in her bed or wheelchair. She loves the place she lives—a beautiful new building with a private room, good food, and great care. Her family and friends visit often, and she leads a Bible study for her peers each month. She declares, “The Lord is surely good!”
