On Sunday, February 18, the House Appropriations and Senate Finance Committees are slated to announce their respective budget proposals for the 2019 and 2020 state fiscal years.  At that time we will know more about how each chamber proposes to approach funding the Commonwealth’s priorities.  As you will recall, in December Gov. Terry McAuliffe presented his final proposed budget.  His proposal, which the House and Senate are not obligated to adopt, fully funded the Medicaid forecast, which included inflationary adjustments for nursing care services estimated at 2.9% and 3.0% in fiscal years 2019 and 2020, respectively.

VHCA-VCAL will analyze the respective House and Senate proposals and relay information on the impact on Medicaid reimbursement for nursing centers.  We will also share additional information during the Legislative Conference.
