Matt Mansell Joins Gov.-elect Northam’s Administration

Matt Mansell, who has served as VHCA-VCAL Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs since 2015, has left the association to serve as Legislative Director for Gov.-elect Ralph Northam.

In announcing the staffing change, VHCA-VCAL President and CEO Keith Hare said, “While we are sad to see Matt leave VHCA-VCAL, we are thrilled for him as he begins this new chapter in his career.  Matt has done a tremendous job advocating for VHCA-VCAL members over the last two and half years.  He is a widely respected expert on Virginia’s legislative affairs and I count us fortunate to have had him as a member of our team.” During Mansell’s tenure at VHCA-VCAL, members have seen steady increases in Medicaid reimbursement and have achieved numerous legislative and regulatory victories.

Mansell shared the following message for VHCA-VCAL members:

It has been an honor to work with the staff and membership of VHCA-VCAL for the last two and a half years. I will value the many friendships made during my time here, and look forward to seeing and working with many of you in the years to come. I have appreciated the opportunity to serve and collaborate with you as you provide quality care to Virginia’s most vulnerable citizens. It has truly been a pleasure.

Mansell’s last day with the association was December 8, 2017.  Planning is underway to ensure we have a successful General Assembly session as we continue to advocate on your behalf.  If you have questions, please contact Keith Hare.
