The Virginia Safety and Health Codes Board met on February 16 pursuant to Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s Executive Order Six to consider whether the Final Permanent Standard (FPS) for COVID-19 prevention was still necessary.  The Board found that it is no longer necessary and voted to revoke the standard in its entirety.

Although the Department of Labor and Industry (DOLI) must follow an official process to officially end the FPS, this standard should no longer be a concern for compliance purposes. Gov. Youngkin has ordered DOLI not to enforce it and now the Board has taken the added step of voting to revoke it.
